K . R. Balachandran

 

K. R. Balachandran is a professor of accounting and operations management at the Stern School of business at New York University. He teaches courses in management accounting, management control systems, and financial accounting.

His main research areas include optimal operation of service systems, incentive contracts and mechanisms, transfer pricing decisions, conceptualization of unused capacity and its optimal utilization, warranty contracts, quality improvement programs and reports, activity-based costing systems, business measurement systems, and optimal performance evaluation. Professor Balachandran has written and published over 65 articles in leading academic journals in economics, accounting and management science. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance. In addition to serving on the editorial boards of several journals, he has served as a reviewer for numerous journals and research funding agencies.
